MOODY'S DOWNGRADES GUERRERO

On November the 12th, the rating agency Moody's lowered the issuer ratings of the state of Guerrero as well as its assessment of the base credit risk and the debt ratings, changing the outlook from negative to stable, this because it is expected that total debt levels will remain low and that stress liquidity begins to decline after paying off short-term debt in 2021

Moody’s is an international credit rating agency or ‘rating’ that analyzes commercial and governmental entities. They can evaluate the quality of the debt of a country or a financial institution.

The downgrade of the issuer ratings primarily reflects the weakening of operating balance sheets and the expectation that liquidity, which has declined, will eventually stabilize below the levels observed in previous periods.

This could lead to the confidence of investors to be strengthened with what could be a greater flow of foreign capital in the area in the coming months.

Guerrero has a poor regional economy that depends to some extent on tourism, an industry that is sensitive to the economic effects of the pandemic, so at this time it needs to be lifted with the entry of FDI in order to strengthen itself after the pandemic.
